It disturbs me to read an article that once again shows sympathy for illegal immigrants, low-income families and minorities ("Living Without Dental Care," May 30).
I am a single, female minority who works full-time, and I have no medical or dental benefits, while most illegal immigrants and their dependents qualify for monthly government checks and Medi-Cal. I don't qualify for Medi-Cal because I have no dependents. Why punish hard-working individuals trying to succeed and maintain a healthy lifestyle but, on the flip side, condone out-of-wedlock children by compensating uneducated young women and supplying them with monthly welfare benefits?
