Lawyer Picked to Lead Delgadillo's Transition

City Atty.-elect Rocky Delgadillo on Thursday named attorney Mark R. Steinberg to lead his transition team.

Steinberg, a litigation partner at O'Melveny & Myers--the prestigious Los Angeles firm that Delgadillo once worked for--is a longtime close associate of former Secretary of State Warren Christopher. Christopher was one of Delgadillo's most prominent backers in the race for city attorney, which Delgadillo won on June 5.

Steinberg worked for Christopher on the independent commission formed to investigate the Los Angeles Police Department in 1991 and worked with him in Washington as a member of President Clinton's transition team the following year.
