Six Flags Ride Reopens After State Gives OK

A Six Flags Magic Mountain roller coaster was reopened Thursday as state investigators continued a probe into the June 3 death of a woman at the Valencia amusement park.

After 10 days of testing the Goliath ride--which opened last year-- investigators determined that it was operating properly, said Dean Fryer, spokesman for the state Department of Industrial Relations.

An investigation is expected to continue for at least four more weeks into the cause of death of 28-year-old Pearl Santos of Fontana. She was found collapsed in her seat after riding the coaster, which plunges at speeds up to 85 mph, and was pronounced dead a short time later.
