Westlake. Her crucial steal in the final minute against Harvard-Westlake helped the Royals advance to the Division III regional final, where they fell to Torrance Bishop Montgomery, 60-51. In that game, Farner had 16 points, 10 in the fourth quarter, and nine rebounds.

Foothill, Softball

She retired 18 straight batters in No. 1 Foothill's 5-1 victory over No. 2 Aliso Niguel in the first game of a doubleheader.

* Amber Steen

Newport Harbor, Track

She won the girls' 1,600 meters in 4:55.25, setting a meet record Saturday at the Irvine Track and Field Invitational.
