* B'nai Emet will present an evening of Broadway music, staged with members of the Young Artists Ensemble, tonight at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi. Show time: 7 p.m. $35.

On Friday, the temple will host a "Shabbat Across America" program at MenNar Banquet Center, 77-A Tierra Road (enter on Strathearn Street), Simi Valley. A Shabbat dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed at 8 p.m. with a service. Guest speaker is Stephen Passamaneck, a professor of Jewish law at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles. Cost: $13 general, $9 ages 6-12, free for children 5 and younger.

* Temple Beth Torah's Brotherhood will hold an installment of its monthly brunch program at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Sabi Shabtai, a Middle East and terrorism expert, will discuss "Israel and the Palestinians: A Leap of Faith." $10, includes lox and bagels.

* The Rev. Irma Oestmann will deliver the message "May the Force Be With You" on Sunday at Unity Center Church in Thousand Oaks. The 10 a.m. service will include music by pianist Freddie Weber.

Children's church is held during the service and child care is available. Also Sunday, an adult discussion series will be held at 9:15 a.m.

On Sunday from noon to 1 p.m., Freddie Weber will give the lecture "A Musical Metaphysical Workshop." $10, includes lunch.

* The Rev. D. Paul Hickman will deliver a message Sunday at Thousand Oaks Baptist Church. The morning worship service begins at 10:45, followed by an evening service at 6. Other programs include training hour, 5 p.m. Sunday; Sunday school, 9:30 a.m.; prayer hour, 7 p.m. Wednesday.

* St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Westlake Village will celebrate the first anniversary of the dedication of the church with an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Activities include live musical groups, docent tours and heritage discussions.

The church is offering Lenten faith enrichment workshops Tuesdays and Wednesdays through April 5. The meetings will begin at 7 p.m. with refreshments, followed by the class at 7:30 p.m. Advance $5, at the door $7.

* The Rev. Judith Cohen will deliver a message titled "The 'A' Word and the Role It Plays in Our Lives" on Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura. The sermon will explore ways to manage anger.

* The Rev. E. W. Greene will deliver a sermon Sunday at United Church of Christ in Simi Valley. Services are held each Sunday at 10 a.m.

* The Rev. Kent Meads will deliver the sermon "A Warning" on Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Camarillo. The message is based on the scripture Luke 13:1-9. There will be a celebration service at 8:30 a.m., followed by a traditional worship service at 10 a.m.

* Frances Pardee will deliver the message "How Much Is Enough?" during the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Pardee will explore the use of money as an indicator of personal values.

* Pastor Tim Fearer will continue his Romans series Sunday with "Foundations of Freedom: Leave That Corpse Alone!" at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Hueneme. The worship service is at 10 a.m.

Nursery care is provided. Preschool children through fifth-graders are dismissed to "Kids' Church."

* Pastor Phil Robillard will continue a sermon series Sunday titled "Jesus of Nazareth, Friend of Sinners" at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Thousand Oaks. Pastor Rick Wright will also address the congregation. The church will hold its worship celebration at 10:05 a.m.

A nursery and Sunday school classes are provided, while those who are high school or college age remain for the regular service.

An informal interactive service meets at 8 a.m. in Alton Hall; casual attire is encouraged. Traditional worship services are held at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday school classes for all ages meet at 9 a.m. Infant and toddler care is provided during each service.
