Garden Grove Los Amigos 45, Garden Grove Pacifica 35--The Lobos (8-2, 6-0) rode the legs of sophomores Anthony Matagi and Maopu Tuato to clinch the Garden Grove League championship at Garden Grove High.

Pacifica (6-4, 4-2), which needed a victory to earn a share of the league title, will join Los Amigos and Garden Grove in the Southern Section Division IX playoffs.

Matagi rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns in 24 carries. Tuato rushed for 121 yards in nine carries, including an 89-yard touchdown run.

Pacifica took the lead, 28-24, on the opening play of the fourth quarter when Ted Telemaque scored on a 40-yard run.

Tuato, who completed eight of 15 passes for 153 yards, threw a 29-yard scoring pass to Matt Hardin with 8:57 to play in the fourth quarter, giving Los Amigos a 31-28 lead. Two plays later, Edgar Islas returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown.

Pacifica's Justin Turner completed 16 of 27 passes for 303 yards. He had touchdown passes of 55 and 72 yards, but was intercepted twice in the fourth quarter.
