Gahr's Angel Perkins Commits to Arizona

Cerritos Gahr High's Angel Perkins, the defending state champion in the girls' 200 meters and one of the top prep track and field athletes in the nation, has committed to Arizona.

Perkins, who chose Arizona over defending NCAA champion USC, ran a career-best 23.07 seconds to win the 200 in the World Youth championships at Hungary in June. She ranks fourth on the all-time Southern Section lists in the 200, as well as in the 100 at 11.45, and in the 400 at 52.18.

She finished second in the 400 in the last two state championships.
