A child and a female pedestrian were killed and another woman was in critical condition Saturday night after being hit by a car that ran onto a sidewalk in Laguna Hills, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.
The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Hon Avenue, about 200 yards north of Alicia Parkway, near Laguna Hills Plaza. The driver of the Mercedes that hit the pedestrians had been traveling north on Hon, from Alicia, when the car left the roadway, said Sgt. Steve Doan of the Sheriff's Department. The female driver was not injured; she has not been identified.
