To celebrate the Jewish High Holidays, the Forum Gallery next week will display the work of artist Mark Podwal.
Podwal's "Legends and Visions: Art From the Jewish Experience," will be on display from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Wednesday through Oct. 13 at the gallery, 8069 Beverly Blvd.
The exhibit uses watercolors, gouaches and ink drawings that offer visual metaphors by fusing images of Jewish history, legend and folklore.
Podwal has written and illustrated numerous children's books with such collaborators as Elie Wiesel and Jack Prelutsky.

California Lutheran University will host a photo exhibit and lecture on Palestinian history at 3 p.m. Sunday in Richter Hall in the Ahmanson Science Center, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
