Men's Volleyball

Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament. First round Saturday: Cal State Northridge at Pepperdine, 7 p.m.; UC Santa Barbara at UCLA, 7 p.m.; Long Beach State at Hawaii, 9 p.m. With victory, Pepperdine plays host to MPSF semifinals and finals.


No. 13 Long Beach State at Miami, Friday, 4 p.m.; Saturday, 4 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. Red-hot 49ers face defending national champion, which is struggling.

No. 15 Cal State Fullerton at UC Santa Barbara, Friday, 2 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. Titans can jump ahead of Long Beach in Big West Conference with series sweep.

Cal State Sacramento at Cal State Northridge, Friday, 3 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. Matadors can use a sweep against Big West doormat.

UC Irvine at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Friday, 5 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. Key series for both teams trying to stay in conference race.

Women's Tennis

No. 3 Stanford at No. 8 UCLA, Friday, 1:30 p.m. UCLA's Megan Bradley and Sara Walker are ranked among top 10 in singles.

Stanford at No. 12 USC, Saturday, noon. Led by Jewel Peterson, USC could win its first Pacific 10 title.
