Authorities List 23 Wanted by Tribunal

April 18, 2002|From Times Wire Reports

Yugoslavia published a list of 23 people it said should surrender or face arrest for extradition to a U.N. tribunal now trying former President Slobodan Milosevic for Balkan war crimes.

Those on the list--received from the U.N. tribunal in The Hague--have three days to surrender, an act that would earn suspects privileges they won't get if arrested.

Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and his top general, Ratko Mladic, are listed, as is Serbia's president, Milan Milutinovic.

Ten of the 23 are Yugoslav citizens. The rest are from Croatia or Bosnia-Herzegovina.
