Update--New York won its last four regular-season games to make the playoffs. But this season the Dragons are without 2001 offensive player of the year Aaron Garcia; the quarterback has signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Former University of Redlands quarterback Danny Ragsdale, who played in two games last season, gets his first start. Besides trying to win his head coaching debut, Ed Hodgkiss wants the Avengers--the league's most penalized team last year--to play smarter. "We don't want to beat ourselves. That's our mantra for the year," he said.
