Cypress Ignores Intent of Eminent Domain

April 28, 2002

Re "The Almighty Tax Revenue," Editorial, April 21:

If it is true that Cypress is trying to use eminent domain to take property owned by a church and sell it to a private corporation, it goes against the original intent of eminent domain. Land taken by eminent domain should belong to the people. Too often, people are thrown out of their homes only to find out that the government sold the land to private entities.
