No Serious Injuries in Fire at 6-Story Building

January 09, 2002|From Times Staff Reports

Firefighters used truck-mounted ladders to rescue about a dozen people Tuesday evening from the top floor of a six-story building in Inglewood when flames swept through part of the structure. There were no serious injuries.

Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Mike Brown said the blaze, which may have been deliberately set, filled hallways and stairwells with smoke, trapping some of the occupants of the Hillcrest Medical Plaza on Hillcrest Boulevard.
