Where Does Canola Oil Come From?

It comes from canola seeds, according to the Canola Council of Canada. Actually, it comes from specially bred rapeseeds, which have been named canola. But the oil has vastly different fatty acid content and other properties than rapeseed oil, the council says, and is healthier for humans. Contrary to rumors propagated on the Internet, consumption of canola oil poses no known risk to humans.
