Neo-Nazis Convicted in Black Youth's Death

January 18, 2002|From Times Wire Reports

An Oslo court convicted two neo-Nazis of stabbing a black Norwegian teenager in what it called a clearly racist killing.

The slaying of Benjamin Hermansen, 15, last year sparked anti-racism rallies across Scandinavia.

The Oslo City Court convicted Joe Erling Jahr, 20, and Ole Nicolai Kvisler, 22, of first-degree murder in the case. It sentenced Jahr to 16 years in prison and Kvisler to 15.
