Milner Resigns Position With El Toro Football

Mike Milner, football coach at El Toro the past 11 years, has resigned his position but will continue to teach physical education at the Lake Forest school, he said Tuesday.

Milner said he wants to spend more time with his family.

"I have a 12-year-old son," Milner said. "I missed his first home run and his second home run in winter ball because I was coaching. I don't want to miss his third and fourth home runs."

Milner served as Fountain Valley's coach for 12 seasons before taking over at El Toro. In 23 seasons, his teams have made four appearances in Southern Section finals, winning twice. He has also won six league championships in the Sunset and Sea View leagues.
