Update--The Avengers clinched a spot in the 12-team Arena Football League playoffs last week, despite their 52-46 overtime loss to Arizona. Victories in their final two games of the regular season and one loss by New Jersey would give them a No. 4 seeding in the playoffs and a bye in the first round. Indiana would have been the No. 12-seeded team had the playoffs started Saturday. The Firebirds are led by quarterback Raymond Philyaw, who has completed 244 of 415 passes for 2,960 yards and 54 touchdowns. They lost to San Jose, 52-41, last week after defeating Grand Rapids, 56-42, on June 29. Quarterback Tony Graziani has completed 234 of 399 passes for 2,989 yards and 58 touchdowns for the Avengers, who have won three of their last four games. Receiver Chris Jackson and lineman Chris Butterfield will be back in the lineup after sitting out last week's game with leg injuries.
