American Legion Area 6 Playoffs Begin Thursday

The American Legion Area 6 baseball playoffs begin Thursday, with Agoura and Chatsworth favored to meet in Sunday's final at UCLA. Woodland Hills West, Royal, Santa Monica and Pomona are the other teams entered in the double-elimination tournament. The winner advances to the state tournament in Yountville.

Thursday's opening game schedule: Woodland Hills West vs. Royal at Chatsworth, 3 p.m.; Chatsworth vs. Santa Monica at Lake Balboa Birmingham, 4 p.m.; Agoura vs. Pomona at UCLA, 7 p.m.
