Mighty Duck center Marc Chouinard, who injured his left shoulder against Minnesota on Feb. 27, suffered a torn muscle and nerve damage, and there is no timetable for his return.
Chouinard injured his shoulder in a collision with Minnesota's Matt Johnson. Team officials initially said Chouinard had a strained shoulder, but downgraded his condition this week.
"The nerves are the thing the doctors are worried about," Chouinard said. "They don't know how much time it's going to take really. It hasn't improved in the last week. So at least one week more, maybe two."
Coach Bryan Murray wasn't so optimistic, saying Chouinard shouldn't rush back.
Dan Bylsma (chest pains) and defenseman Pavel Trnka (severe headache), who both left Wednesday's game against Atlanta early, played Friday against New Jersey.... The Ducks swapped minor leaguers with Pittsburgh on Friday, sending defenseman Bert Robertsson to the Penguins for defenseman Mark Moore.
