N.C. State No Longer Unbeaten

North Carolina State couldn't hold onto its lead, ending the Wolfpack's bid for an unbeaten season.

Gordon Clinkscale's 14-yard touchdown run with 9:23 left helped Georgia Tech rally from an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the 10th-ranked Wolfpack, 24-17, Saturday at Raleigh, N.C.

A.J. Suggs had a fourth-quarter touchdown pass and two-point conversion to tie the game for the Yellow Jackets (6-3 overall, 3-3 Atlantic Coast Conference).

N.C. State fell to 9-1 and 4-1.

Adrian McPherson threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns in his first start and Nick Maddox had 122 yards rushing to lead No. 18 Florida State (6-3, 5-0) to a 34-21 victory over Wake Forest (5-5, 3-4) at Winston-Salem, N.C.... Chris Downs rushed for 157 yards and four touchdowns, leading Maryland (7-2, 3-1) to a 59-7 rout of North Carolina (2-7, 0-5) at Chapel Hill, N.C.... Aaron Hunt kicked a 21-yard field goal with eight seconds left as Clemson (5-4, 3-3) rallied for a 34-31 victory over Duke (2-8, 0-6) at Durham, N.C.

Joffrey Reynolds rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown as Houston (4-4, 2-3) held on for a 26-21 victory over Memphis (2-7, 1-5) at Memphis, Tenn.

Mike Mitchell passed for 334 yards to lead Penn (6-1, 4-0) to a 31-7 win over Brown (0-7, 0-4) at Philadelphia.... Neil Rose threw three touchdown passes to lead Harvard (5-2, 4-0) to a 31-26 win over Dartmouth (3-4, 2-2) at Hanover, N.H.... Jeff Mroz threw four touchdown passes to lead Yale (4-3, 2-2) to a 35-7 win over Columbia (1-6, 0-4) at New Haven, Conn.... Matt Verbit threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Blair Morrison in overtime as Princeton (5-2, 3-1) scored a 32-25 victory over Cornell (2-5, 1-3) at Ithaca, N.Y.

Joe Alls rushed for a career-high 179 yards and two touchdowns as No. 21 Bowling Green (8-0, 5-0) rolled to a 45-14 victory over Kent State (3-6, 1-5) at Kent, Ohio. The Falcons extended their winning streak to 11 games, scoring 24 points off four turnovers.... Robbie Mixon rushed for a conference record 377 in 43 carries and scored four touchdowns as Central Michigan (4-5, 2-3) rolled to a 47-21 victory over Eastern Michigan (3-6, 1-4) at Ypsilanti, Mich.... Charlie Frye threw for one touchdown and ran for another, leading Akron (2-7, 1-4) to a 34-20 victory over visiting Marshall (6-2, 4-1), which played part of the game without quarterback Byron Leftwich, who injured his left shin.

Quarterback Jason Thomas rushed for three touchdowns and threw a game-winning 25-yard touchdown pass to Steven Costa in overtime to lead Nevada Las Vegas (4-5, 2-2) to a 49-48 victory over visiting Wyoming (2-7, 1-3).... Matt Berry threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns as Brigham Young (4-5, 1-3) rolled to a 34-10 victory over San Diego State (3-6, 3-1) at Provo, Utah.

Zack Threadgill threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns to lead Nevada (4-5, 3-2) to a 24-6 victory over Southern Methodist at Dallas....
