Nets' Kidd Is Fined $5,000

New Jersey Net guard Jason Kidd was fined $5,000 on Saturday by the NBA for elbowing Indiana's Jamaal Tinsley.

Kidd was ejected from Friday night's game between the Nets and Pacers with 4:52 to play for throwing an elbow at Tinsley after the two were called for technical fouls while each tried to establish position in the post.

The Nets beat Indiana, 102-91, in a game that featured nine technical fouls and 59 fouls.

The New York Knicks announced their 433rd consecutive sellout of 19,762 for their home opener against Boston on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, but team officials predicted the streak probably will end Monday.

More than 1,000 tickets remain unsold for Monday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
