The Times' Rankings

There are no changes in the top 10 as many of the ranked teams did not race last week in preparation for this week's league finals. Simi Valley Royal won its second consecutive Ventura County title Friday, but the Highlanders weren't impressive enough in that race to overtake any of the teams in front of them.

There are no changes in the top six teams from last week, but former No. 7 Ventura drops out after an injury to one of its top five runners contributed to a third-place finish behind Simi Valley Royal and Oak Park in the Ventura County championships Friday. Villa Park appears in the rankings for the first time, but the Spartans should have been there last week after an impressive performance to win a Division II race of the Mount San Antonio College Invitational on Oct. 26.

Wilson previously shot 193 at par-38 Recreation Park and 186 at par-32 Catalina Country Club. Santa Margarita returns to the top 10 after defeating Palm Desert, 441-456, in an 18-hole match. The first loss of the season for Palm Desert drops the Aztecs a spot. Anaheim Esperanza also avenged its only loss of the season with a 223-248 victory over Huntington Beach Marina that forged a tie for first in the Sunset League.

Laguna Beach takes over the No. 4 spot with a 10-8 victory over Peninsula. Dana Point Dana Hills, which lost to No. 10 Fullerton Troy, and Calabasas tumble down the rankings.
