An Infusion of Lobster

October 02, 2002|Donna Deane

Open this bottle of bright orange oil, and you're in for a surprise--it smells just like roasted lobster. It is, in fact, sunflower oil infused with lobster, and it would be great drizzled over ravioli, risotto or lobster bisque, or on seafood or salads, or used as an accent in dressings and sauces.

Aragosta Lobsteroil, 8.8-ounce bottle, $26.69, and 1.9-ounce bottle, $12.29, from Surfas, 8825 National Blvd., Culver City, (310) 559-4770.

If in a Tight Spot. . .

Tricky maneuvers such as flipping pancakes or getting that first piece of pie out of the plate are much easier with these new flexible spatulas. The rust-proof handles are sturdy, and the thin bases make them easy to guide into tight spots. They come in three sizes.

Flexible pie server $7, 5 3/4 x 3 1/2-inch flexible spatula $8 and 4 1/2 x 2 3/4-inch spatula $7, from Williams-Sonoma and Sur La Table.
