Third-Party Candidates

October 20, 2002

I'm really disappointed that "Bustamante Makes Most of Post in Davis' Shadow" (Oct. 16), about the lieutenant governor's race, omitted any serious mention of the excellent Green candidate, Donna Warren. You missed your opportunity to raise issues that only Warren is talking about -- like our failed war on drugs or the fact that California now has more black men in jail than in college (thanks to the discriminatorily applied three-strikes law). What did we get instead? A puff piece on the major candidates' "personalities" and a slanted poll that deliberately omitted all third-party candidates. Talk about dropping the ball!
