Sony Corp.

October 22, 2002

* Sony Corp.'s television unit confidentially settled a lawsuit brought by the unit's former president over his compensation, averting a jury trial. Jon Feltheimer, who resigned from Sony's Columbia TriStar Television Group in September 1999, was at Sony for eight years and lead the unit when it developed hits "Mad About You," "Party of Five" and "Dawson's Creek" for the networks. He sued for $10 million last year, claiming that the company reneged on his compensation agreement when he left. Feltheimer is now chief executive of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.
