Coalition Files to Raise Anti-Secession Funds

September 06, 2002|From Times Staff Reports

A coalition of city officials, labor union leaders and business owners filed papers with the city Ethics Commission Thursday to raise money to defeat the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood secession bids on the Nov. 5 ballot.

Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski is heading the group, called the Public Safety Coalition Against Secession--No on Proposition F.

The group has an estimated 30 members. Earlier this year, most of them were involved in the successful campaign for a $600-million police bond measure.
