School District to Get $6 Million for Upgrades

The Santa Ana Unified School District will use a $6-million interest-free federal loan to renovate five high schools and strengthen academic programs designed to increase graduation rates.

The loan will come from the 2002 Qualified Zone Academy Bond Program. To qualify, the district had to raise $600,000 from the private sector.
