A 21-year-old Carson man was convicted Thursday of murdering a 16-year-old girl and setting her body on fire in August 2001.
A jury found Sean Thomas Blazer guilty of first-degree murder, arson and assault. He faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 25. The jury deliberated two days.
Blazer stabbed Amanda Fan of Redondo Beach at Veterans Park and Sports Complex in Carson. She had refused his advances that night. Her badly burned body was found the next day at the park.
