Drive-By Attack Kills Woman, Injures 2 Teens

A 23-year-old woman was shot and killed and two teenagers were injured in a drive-by shooting, authorities said Sunday.

Witnesses told police that a passing car was told to slow down by a person standing in a crowd in the 13400 block of Mercer Street shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday.

The car turned around and an occupant fired several shots into the crowd, killing Nancy Ramirez and injuring two teenage boys, said Officer Don Cox of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the LAPD's Foothill Division homicide detectives at (818) 834-3115.
