Oops! Promo Gave Away Emmy Win

KNBC-TV killed the suspense for some local viewers of Sunday's Emmy Awards, who figured out that "The West Wing" was named best drama about 20 minutes before that category was televised.

That's because KNBC-TV teased its late newscast during the delayed-for-the-West Coast broadcast and, in a series of shots from the awards, included series creator Aaron Sorkin holding his award amid some "West Wing" cast members.

A spokeswoman for the station said Monday that the brief clip's inclusion was an "editing oversight." Sorkin wasn't identified during the promotion.
