Fire Threatens Homes Before Being Put Out

August 05, 2003|From Times Staff Reports

A 20-acre fire briefly threatened two dozen homes before firefighters extinguished the flames, which broke out about 5:30 p.m., authorities said.

A 100-yard firebreak between the homes and the dry grass fueling the flames prevented property damage, said Tony Landin, a Chino Valley Fire District spokesman.
