Embrace 'Passion'

August 09, 2003

Tim Rutten's bashing of Mel Gibson's unreleased movie "The Passion"

(" 'Passion' Shaping Up as Gibson's Lethal Weapon," Aug. 6) seems yet another attempt by the secular/liberal quasi-intellectuals to deny historical facts.

Why is it that the story of Jesus' crucifixion should evoke such nervous outbursts? I say it is not fear of anti-Semitism but the fear of any form of spirituality infiltrating the psyche of the American people that drives these attacks. I urge this readership not to fall victim to this propaganda and make it a point to see this movie.
