New Alarm Policy Exempts City Leaders

February 02, 2003

In the last month, the "new" LAPD has sent these messages to the criminal element: No neighborhood sweeps looking for wrongdoers. No response to alarm calls to locate wrongdoers, except for city buildings and officials. No pursuits to apprehend wrongdoers, other than the most serious. So who benefits from these policies? The taxpaying public or the criminal element?
