A defense lawyer in the treason trial of Zimbabwe's opposition leader accused the key prosecution witness of setting up the case and taking $1 million from the government.

Witness Ari Ben-Menashe denied the lawyer's allegations. He said he videotaped Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai discussing President Robert Mugabe's assassination.

Tsvangirai and two senior party officials could get the death penalty if convicted of plotting to kill Mugabe, which all deny.
