Dan Anderson, 81, former president of the Hazelden Foundation and a primary architect of the Minnesota Model for addiction treatment, died Wednesday at St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls, Wis.
He had been in declining health for several years but the cause of death was not reported.
Born in Minneapolis, Anderson earned his bachelor's degree from the College of St. Thomas, his master's degree in clinical psychology from Loyola University of Chicago and his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Ottawa.
