Cal State Fullerton center Pape Sow, suspended last week for violating team rules, is expected to be arraigned in a North Orange County court later this month on petty theft charges, sources said. Sow was arrested last month as he left the campus bookstore, a source said. It is not known what he is accused of stealing.
Fullerton Coach Donny Daniels, citing university confidentiality rules, would not confirm charges facing the 6-foot-10 Sow, a native of Senegal projected as an NBA draft pick at power forward. Despite injuries to a wrist and an ankle, and being double and triple-teamed by defenses, Sow, a junior, was averaging 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds this season. Under existing rules, Sow has a right to appeal his suspension to a university appeals board.
