Mark Weber, the UCLA offensive line coach the last six years, was retained Saturday by new Coach Karl Dorrell.
Weber, 45, is the fifth coach hired, joining returnees Gary Bernardi (tight ends) and Don Johnson (defensive line) and newcomers Eric Bieniemy (running backs) and Jon Embree (receivers).
Every Bruin lineman earned postseason recognition. Senior right tackle Mike Saffer was first-team All-Pac-10. Senior left tackle Bryce Bohlander and sophomore left guard Eyoseph Efseaff were second-team selections and sophomore right guard Steve Vieira was honorable mention. Center Mike McCloskey was a second-team freshman All-American.
Dorrell has four openings left. Two must go to coordinators on each side of the ball.
Texas secondary coach Duane Akina, a former offensive coordinator at Arizona, remains the leading candidate to become defensive coordinator and is expected to meet with Dorrell on Monday.
