Sacramento State Ends Losing Streak

Jimmy White scored 19 points as Sacramento State won its first Big Sky Conference road game by defeating Northern Arizona, 85-81, in double overtime Saturday at Flagstaff, Ariz.

It ended a 49-game losing streak over seven years of road conference games for the Hornets, who are 6-8 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Northern Arizona (9-5, 0-1), which defeated UCLA, 67-63 on Dec. 17, lost for the first time in seven home games this season despite Ryan McDade's 27 points, 13 rebounds and career-high seven steals.

In other games: LaVell Blanchard had 15 points as Michigan (9-6, 2-0) continued its remarkable turnaround with a 66-53 Big 10 Conference victory over Penn State (5-8, 0-2) at Ann Arbor, Mich., its ninth victory in a row.... Todd Billet scored 17 of his 24 points in the first half to lead Virginia (10-3, 1-1) to a 79-72 victory over North Carolina (9-5, 1-1) in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Charlottesville, Va.... Carmelo Anthony and Hakim Warrick each scored 24 points as Syracuse (10-1, 2-0) rallied for an 82-74 victory over Boston College (6-6, 0-2) in a Big East Conference game at Syracuse, N.Y.... Marcus Banks made six free throws in the final minute to lead Nevada Las Vegas (11-2) to a 75-70 victory over DePaul (8-4) at Rosemont, Ill.... Delonte West scored 19 points as Saint Joseph's (11-1, 3-0), off to its best start since 1964-65, rolled to a 76-47 victory over Massachusetts (6-8, 0-2) in an Atlantic 10 Conference game at Philadelphia.
