N. Hollywood High Team Reaches National Science Bowl Finals

May 05, 2003|From a Times Staff Writer

Students from North Hollywood High School outthought the competition Sunday and advanced to today's championship round of the National Science Bowl in Chevy Chase, Md.

The five-member team is now up against 17 other schools from around the United States. Arcadia High didn't make it out of the first round despite defeating last year's national champ, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology of Alexandria, Va., in one-on-one play.

The contest requires teams to answer hundreds of mind-bending questions covering all fields of science.
