Cheney Confirms He Will Be on '04 Ticket

Vice President Dick Cheney confirmed in an interview published Wednesday that he will be President Bush's running mate in a 2004 reelection campaign.

The White House said it was too early for Bush to make any formal announcement about re-election, although the president's political activity has picked up in the wake of the Iraq war.

"The president has asked me if I would serve again as his running mate," Cheney told the Dallas Morning News. "I've agreed to do that."
