65 New SARS Cases, 8 Deaths Reported

Taiwan reported a record daily rise of 65 probable cases of SARS today, bringing its total to 483, the third-highest after China and Hong Kong.

The Department of Health said the death toll had risen by eight, to 60. On Wednesday, the World Health Organization extended its travel warning beyond the capital, Taipei, to the whole island as local officials reported 35 more cases.
