Today being Thanksgiving, eating and watching television would seem to go hand in hand, so the networks and cable channels have prepared a platter of holiday program trimmings for the hungry viewer.
Parades: The holiday feast starts off with three marching extravaganzas at 9 a.m.: the 77th annual "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," from New York City, on NBC and Spanish-language KVEA-TV; the "CBS Thanksgiving Day Parade," anchored by Hannah Storm and Dave Price; and the "State Street Thanksgiving Parade," on ABC.
Specials: Turkey Day goes to the dogs at noon when NBC presents "The National Dog Show." Actor John O'Hurley ("Seinfeld") follows the canines as they are put through their paces at the Kennel Club of Philadelphia. Viewers will have the opportunity to judge the best in show competition by voting online at MSNBC.com.
KCET reprises its "Great Performances" broadcast of the Royal National Theatre's production of "Oklahoma!," with Hugh Jackman and Josefina Gabrielle, at 8 p.m.
