October 03, 2003|Richard Verrier

Universal Pictures and Morgan Creek Productions have entered into an exclusive, three-year distribution arrangement, the companies announced.

Under the deal, Universal will distribute domestically all films produced and financed by Morgan Creek. Since 1990, Morgan Creek has distributed its films through Warner Bros.

"We're very pleased to be in business with Morgan Creek," Universal Pictures Chairwoman Stacey Snider said. "This arrangement allows us to expand our domestic release schedule while providing our audience with the most interesting and diverse slate of movies possible."

Founded by James G. Robinson in 1988, Morgan Creek has produced such movies as "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls," "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," "Pacific Heights" and "The Last of the Mohicans."
