QUICK TAKES

Finally

October 07, 2003

Reunited: Tears for Fears founders Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have reunited and signed with Arista Records, reviving the group known for such '80s hits as "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Shout."

Renewed: MTV has ordered more episodes for 2004 of its series "Road Rules," "Newlyweds" and "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle."

Rejected: Officials in Ozzy Osbourne's hometown of Birmingham, England, have put the kibosh on a campaign to award the heavy-metal rocker the Freedom of the City award, its highest honor. Although one city council member had joined a local radio station in promoting the idea, other city fathers didn't go along.

Said one: "Frankly, the idea of Osbourne as a role model is laughable."
