Heisman Watch

October 19, 2003|Jim Barrero

Carnell Williams, RB, Auburn

Williams topped even Bo Jackson with his six touchdowns Saturday. He has 520 yards in his last three games and has that Cadillac motor revving. But will voters remember his Pinto days against USC and Georgia Tech to start the season?

Kyle Orton, QB, Purdue

After scaring off Brandon Hance to take over the position for the Boilermakers, Orton finally got his chance to put up Drew Brees-like numbers, throwing 56 times for 411 yards against Wisconsin. His efficiency -- only three interceptions in seven games -- and 1,634 passing yards lend him credibility.
