This Week, Fox Misses Out

September 14, 2003|Larry Stewart

A transmission problem caused Fox Sports Net to miss two USC touchdowns during the second quarter of Saturday's game against Hawaii at the Coliseum.

Several minutes of the game were missed, including a 23-yard touchdown run by USC's Reggie Bush and a 32-yard touchdown reception by USC's Keary Colbert.

Fox Sports Net went to the studio show during the technical difficulties then recapped what was missed once the problem was solved.

A network spokesman said there was no power failure in the production truck at the Coliseum or anywhere in the television complex. The problem was a fiber connection at the Pac Bell hub in downtown Los Angeles.

The previous Saturday, a power failure at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo., caused ABC to miss the final two minutes of Colorado's 16-14 victory over UCLA.
