Pieffer's Field Goals Lift Nevada Las Vegas, 33-22

Dillon Pieffer kicked four field goals and Dominique Dorsey ran for 111 yards and a touchdown Friday night as Nevada Las Vegas defeated Hawaii, 33-22, in a nonconference game before 34,287 at Las Vegas.

The Rebels (3-1) trailed, 14-7, in the second quarter, then scored the next 20 points to take control.

Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang was 37 of 61 for 363 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted three times. The Rainbows (1-2) have lost two in a row.

Heather Lyke, who oversees NCAA compliance for Ohio State, told the Columbus Dispatch that Bobby Dellimuti, a 38-year-old caterer and central figure in the NCAA investigation of Maurice Clarett, gave the suspended Buckeye running back a $500 check and paid at least $1,000 of his cell phone bills last year. Attorneys representing Clarett also filed a complaint with the Franklin County Commons Pleas Court seeking information from the university to help determine if the player should sue the school. ... Washington fullback Zach Tuiasosopo was sentenced to 12 months' probation for punching windows out of four cars after a night of drinking in May. Tuiasosopo, a junior, will start today for the Huskies (1-1) against Idaho (0-3).
