School officials are trying to convince the Federal Emergency Management Agency of major earthquake damage at Flamson Middle School.
Federal officials determined that damage from the magnitude-6.5 quake on Dec. 22 was superficial, or "mostly cosmetic," and that cracks can be repaired with epoxy injections, FEMA spokeswoman Jean Baker said.
