Pfizer Inc. sued five Internet pharmacies and sought to seize the domain names of more than two dozen others to stop the sale of counterfeit Viagra, the top-selling male impotence drug.
Pfizer filed the lawsuits in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Jeff Kindler, Pfizer's general counsel, said. The New York-based company said it was working with U.S. government agencies to block the counterfeit drug sales.
